Charity Quiz Night at the Diamond pub in Ponteland

The Great North Air Ambulance is an amazing charity that does sterling work on behalf of everyone in Northumberland and beyond. We run a series of social action pub nights where we all get together and raise money for a local charity. Last Friday my young team of volonteers organised the latest MP's Charity Quiz Night at the Diamond pub in Ponteland.

Supported by local Councillors they raised over £250 for the Great North Air Ambulance. The turn out was around 50 and according to all reports everyone had a great night. What was particularly special was the fact that the vast majority of people attending were under 25. Obviously I could not be there but we will hold more events like this in the summer and later in the year.

I would just like to thank all of the local businesses who contributed and provided an amazing selection of raffle prizes, and of course everyone who turned up to support the cause.

Lastly I must also say a quick thanks to my group of volunteers who made the night happen, and to Amy, in particular, who led this project and is soon off to University. She will be sorely missed.
