Anyone who has visited my constituency office will know that we have a bit of an affinity with Greggs, as we are located on the 2nd floor of a Greggs cafe! The Newcastle company has over 1500 shops, and has recently announced that that total sales grew by 5.8% and like-for-like sales by 1.4%. During the year it opened a record 98 new shops and also completed 170 shop refurbishments. That expansion has created great news of around 800 new jobs and took its staff numbers above 20,000 for the first time.
