The Ashington move of County Hall has been scrapped by the new Conservative run Local Authority

It is still very early days at County Hall in Morpeth, and everyone is still trying to assess what labour signed off before the voters kicked them out, but one decision has been made.
The mega million County Hall move from Morpeth to a state of the art design HQ in Ashington will not be going ahead.
This was raised on the doorstep during the local elections on a repeat basis.
We all understand these are difficult times. Why, if times are hard, would you knock down your own house and build another down the road at a massive cost? So many voters disapproved of this crazy plan.
Good first decision by the Conservative led administration.
