I have been lucky enough to have met several past or present members of the armed forces in the last 7 days - canvassed 3 only yesterday in Hexham and Acomb. There is a quiet but massive anger at the way the forces have been treated by this government, and the underfunding of helicopters, equipment generally and the way in which the injured have been treated. I accept much has now been done but have only just picked up on this story that the armed forces look unlikely to be able to get a vote if they are serving abroad
