Great result for Ruth Davidson +16% increase / swing to Scottish Conservatives. Labour in third

Here’s where we are as of this morning:

• Labour meltdown in Scotland, where Ruth Davidson’s Tories are stunningly set to take second place
• SNP set not to win Holyrood majority
• Labour loses council seats in England though make-up of councils remains largely unchanged

• Labour moderates’ MP verdict:

Jo Cox MP:

“This is not a route back to power in 2020 for the Labour Party. At this stage of the government and the Conservative Party in such disarray… We should have been making substantial gains… I think it’s been a very weak night for Labour.”

Question is whether Corbyn can survive?
