Let's talk about mental health

Last week Councillor Cath Homer and I met with two local people wanting to make a real difference. Toni and Verity are passionate about improving the mental health offer for both young people, and their parents/adults in Hexham. We discussed their plans at length and I will do all we can to help them progress with their project. The project is entirely voluntary, needs supporters and is at an early stage, but if any Hexham schools are eager to have a supportive voluntary partner helping to deal with mental health issues then they should get in touch with me via email at teamoppy@gmail.com

Mental health can affect any of us, so it is inspiring to meet people working to improve mental health care and support in our local area.
