Keep Britain / Hexham tidy campaign & Church event and busy day in Hexham
I, and many locals, will be hard at work first thing this morning helping to spruce up Hexham on the first day of spring as part of the Keep Britain Tidy campaign. If you are free pop down. Also, if you are aware of any broken paving slabs, lights not working, or any other local problems, please let me know, and I will ensure it is sorted. Later on, I have the Middle East Church discussion in Hencotes, and then am meeting another group of voters in Hexham later in the afternoon.

Hexham Spring Clean Up on Sat March 21 - come along 9-11am to help as part of Keep Britain Tidy campaign
http://www.hexhamcourant.co.uk/news/hexham-volunteers-sought-for-town-clean-up-1.1196251
Every year for the last 3 years we have organised a spring clean up of Hexham, where locals come together and do two things:
- volunteer to help tidy the place up for a morning.
- and look around their business and premises and see what they can do to make our shop front look good.
If there are any broken paving stones, lights not working or anything you want to report, or which have not been actioned after you have reported them then let me know.
It is all taking place on the first day of Spring = March 21 between 9-11

Hexham Clean Up Day
This Saturday at 9am we will be starting our Hexham Clean up - please come along. It will be many things - a litter pick, a sponge down, and an assessment of what needs fixing in Hexham. It is part of our urgent short term effort to boost the attractiveness of our wonderful home town and to try and do specific things in the short term to help the retailers. It fits in well with the Town Plan and the Neighbourhood Plan, which are longer term objectives. This clean up will be over the next week. It is all about trying to ensure every retailer and every townperson accepts that they have a role to play. We are all responsible for our actions. Shop local.
