Today is Football Shirt Friday, a day when you can wear your team’s football shirt with pride in support of the Bobby Moore Fund for Bowel Cancer Research. As part of Football Shirt Friday, last week I visited a local William Hill shop where I was invited to place a £50 bet with the winnings going to Tynedale Hospice at Home and the Injured Jockeys Fund. Unfortunately my bet was not successful, but it was great to visit William Hill, who are sponsoring the day as part of their commitment to supporting the community with their Close to HOME project. William Hill have contributed over £144,000 in sponsorship and fundraising to the Bobby Moore Fund and this year are funding a project to increase participation in a nationwide bowel cancer screening programme.
The Bobby Moore Fund was set up in memory of the late Bobby Moore to fund pioneering bowel cancer research. If you would like to donate, text BOBBY to 70200 to donate £5 and help save lives this Football Shirt Friday.
