Transforming local communities with the National Lottery

The Big Lottery Fund distributes money raised by players of the National Lottery to communities across the UK, and two local groups are the latest to benefit from funding. The Hadrian District Scouts have been awarded £9750 to make improvements to their camp site and car park, including a wheelchair accessible ramp, picnic tables and new cooking and catering equipment, which will enable more young people and adults with mobility issues to enjoy the amenities and activities on offer. Meanwhile Riding Mill Village Hall Trust has received £2000 in funding to install a hearing loop, hand rail and tarmac path at their parish hall to improve safety and facilities for older people and people with disabilities.

The Big Lottery Fund funds projects and activities that make communities stronger and more vibrant, and that are led by the people who live in them. This funding will make a huge difference to the two local groups and the communities that they serve.
