Meeting Stocksfield Baptist Church Social Justice Group representativesin Hexham

Good hour long discussion today with Alison and Cathy, who, along with others have long campaigned for action on climate change and decarbonisation. We have met, along with other campaigners, before over the last few years. The key issue going forward is implementation of the 2015 Paris agreement, the fifth carbon budget, and the various govt and DECC select committee reports on decArbonisation and climate change. At the surgery as well as the above we discussed everything from the massive Swansea tidal project, to the carbon budget itself, and the NCC lack of a renewables and minerals policy, particularly in the context of renewables applications for wind farms.
