Bank, Camera, Action!

The Bank of England is inviting local secondary schools from the Hexham constituency to take part in their digital media competition, 'Bank, Camera, Action'.

To coincide with the 20th anniversary of the Bank of England being granted operational independence over monetary policy, school children aged 11-18 are asked to submit a short film (1-3 minutes) on the topic of 'What independence means to me'. Whether it's leaving school, getting a Saturday job or passing your driving test, all students have to do is create a film on your phone, tablet or camera that communicates what independence means to you in an interesting and imaginative way- you can use graphics, interviews, animation, dance, or whatever else you can think of!

There will be prizes for both schools and individuals, and the winning films will be made available on the Bank's website and on social media. Register for the competition by Monday 9th October by emailing- filmcompetition@bankofengland.co.uk and submit your entries by 11th December. Get involved, be creative and tell us what independence means to you! This could be your first step towards becoming the next Steven Spielberg or Kathryn Bigelow!
