Northumberland pub is best in the country!

We all know that Northumberland is home to some of the country's best pubs, but now it is official! The Good Pub Guide 2018 has named The Lord Crewe Arms in Blanchland 'Inn of the Year', and the title is very well deserved! As well as serving up delicious food and locally brewed ales, The Lord Crewe Arms is famous for its history and character. Dating back to 1165, making it one of the oldest inns in the country, the pub is full of history- Jacobite Rebellion leader General Tom Foster hid behind the inn’s fireplace in 1715, while monks were said to use the inn as a hiding hole.

This is a thoroughly deserved accolade, and I am delighted that one of Northumberland's many great pubs has been recognised nationally! If you haven't already been, I certainly recommend a visit to The Lord Crewe Arms- the country's best inn!
