Today is the 200th anniversary of Charles Dickens birth and appropriately enough I will be at a groundbreaking school - Prudhoe Community High School - to celebrate the fact and also welcome Chris Grayling, MP, and many other guests to our jobs summit.We have invited businesses, apprentices, councillors, other employers, students and many more to come and meet the Minister, discuss what we can do about unemployment, and make sure the message of what is going on in the North East gets back to London. I am also hopeful that it will show how the Work Programme is making a real difference in tackling the problem of long term unemployment.
