Lent is here
and this year I am giving up using single-use plastic products. While it’s
nearly impossible not to use plastics at all in our everyday lives, reducing the
amount of plastic we use as much as possible will have huge environmental
benefits. There are around 5 trillion pieces of plastic in oceans worldwide,
with more being added every year. Wildlife ingest or become entangled in these
plastics and are dying at a rapid pace because of this. There are so many
simple changes we can make in our day-to-day lives to reduce our use of
plastics- just a few are suggested in the image below. Why not join me in
giving up using single-use plastics this Lent, and make it a habit we continue
until Easter and beyond?
