Go back in time with the Romans at Hexham Abbey!

This August Bank Holiday (Monday 28th August, 11am-5pm), Hexham Abbey is giving you the chance to go back in time and explore Hexham's Roman past. Flavinus Day is a free event celebrating Hexham's famous Roman Cavalryman whose 2000 year old tombstone stands at the foot of the Night Stair inside the Abbey. Learn about his life and Hexham's Roman history with exhibitions, talks, demonstrations and guided tours around the Abbey, as well as enjoying a range of children's activities and a Roman barbecue and menu in the cafe.
